Abstract:
Neopentyl glycol diacrylate was synthesized by esterification of neopentyl glycol with acrylic acid using p-methoxyphenol as polymerization inhibitor, sulfamic acid as catalyst and cyclohexane as water-carrying agent. The effects of the type and amount of polymerization inhibitor, catalyst and water carrying agent, the ratio of reactant to alcohol acid, reaction temperature and reaction time on the reaction results were investigated, and the optimum process conditions were determined. When n (acrylic acid):n (neopentyl glycol) is 2.4:1, p-methoxyphenol, sulfamic acid and cyclohexane are respectively 1.0% (mass) and 0.5% (mass) of the total mass of the reactants, under the conditions of 40% ~ 50% (mass), reaction temperature 80~90 ℃, reaction time 6h, the diesterification rate of neopentyl glycol can reach more than 90%. The obtained product was separated and purified by vacuum distillation to obtain neopentyl diacrylate with a purity of 98%.Key words:
